Saturday 30 October 2021, Samhain Celebration at the Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne, from 7pm
Ancient Technology Centre, Damerham Road, Cranborne, Dorset, BH21 5RP
In partnership with Earth Kin Events, Wildflower Ceremonies presents a Samhain Celebration at the Ancient Technology Centre, Saturday 30 October, doors and bar open 7pm. Celebration starts 7.30pm.
“Welcome, wild heart, to the Earth Kin Hearth… can you hear the voices of the old ones whispering the ancient stories on the wind? Can you smell the ghosts of the sacred herbs lingering in the air? Can you feel the pulse of the holy drums echoing beneath your feet…? We thought you might. It’s no coincidence you’ve come here. . .”
Join Earth Kin Events and Wildflower Ceremonies this Halloween at the thinning of the veil as we celebrate the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain with a deeply feminist edge by reclaiming some of history’s most notorious enchantresses.
On this night, we reclaim the Witch.
Through drumming, storytelling, dance, poetry and song we will give voice to the sorceresses of elemental magic; sovereigns of the earth, air, fire and water.
Learn the fate of the Queen of Ravens, Morgana Le Fay, mistress of the air; encounter the flame haired temptress Circe, daughter of the sun; behold the many masks of the crone Cerridwen, gatekeeper of life and death; and dare to face the hag Baba Yaga as she sings stories of bone and blood into the Earth.
Sorceress or Goddess? Temptress, maiden, mother or wife? All and more besides? The plight of the Witch is the story of women silenced throughout history – this Samhain, hear them roar.
The evening will include an opening ritual with Earth Kin’s Mistress of Ceremonies, Sacred Celebrant Ellie Brooks, who will be accompanied by some of Dorset’s most powerful female storytellers, writers, poets, dancers and musicians.
A cash bar will open at 7pm for the purchase of refreshments such as mulled wine, warm cider and sweet treats. Celebration starts at 7.30pm.

We hope to see you there!

Saturday 8th & 9th June, Yoga and Creativity
Ashley Court, Tiverton, Devon
Ease into your natural flow and boost your creative fire in this explorative weekend yoga retreat.
Our home for the weekend is Ashley Court – a stunning regency house set in the heart of the Devonshire countryside. Here, we invite you to step back in time to a life of simple pleasures; walk among the wildflowers and woodlands, relax in the shade of ancient oak trees, and steal away for some quiet time in the ‘secret’ walled garden.
Together, we will move, explore, stoke the fires of creativity, and rest in stillness. Flowing through a combination of yoga, qigong, meditation, journaling, creative writing and other craft activities, we can come to understand that, like nature itself, our creativity has its own seasons, cycles and rhythms that can be harnessed on our journey to realise our full potential.
As the sun begins to set, we invite you to gather round the fireside with grassroots storyteller Ellie Brooks as she opens up the ancestral stories of the creative heart; encouraging joy in the creative self and moving past the cultural misconception that artistry must come at the expense of body, mind or soul.
If you are looking to ignite your creativity, move past your creative barriers and let go of anything that gets in the way of your flow, this is the perfect weekend for you.
£300 – total cost for accommodation, all meals, activities and yoga.
Tuesday 9th April 2019, Death Café, 7.30 – 9.30pm
Cargo Lounge Café and Bistro, Broadstone, 15 Dunyeats Rd, Broadstone BH18 8AA
“It is not death that we should fear, but we should fear never beginning to live.” Marcus Aurelius.
On Tuesday 9th April, Ellie will be hosting a Death Café at Cargo Lounge Café & Bistro in Broadstone.
A Death Cafe is simply a gathering of people, who have come together to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. The objective is ‘to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives’.
During the Death Café there will be a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is important to note that the Death Café hosts a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
Death Cafés are an international phenomenon, and are always offered:
– On a not for profit basis
– In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
– With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
– Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake!
We are very grateful to the Cargo Lounge Café and Bistro for providing the venue for this event for us – especially as their scrummy food and refreshments will be available for purchase during the evening – and believe us, the cakes are to die for! (Pun intended.)
If you have any questions about the Death Café, please don’t hesitate to get in touch on 07922 591684, or visit the national website here: https://deathcafe.com.
Saturday 30th March 2019, Dorset Bump to Baby Show, 11am – 3pm
Bournemouth Pavilion, Westover Rd, Bournemouth, BH1 2BU
It takes a village to raise a child – find yours at the Dorset Bump to Baby Show.”
On Saturday 30th March, Ellie will be attending the Dorset Bump to Baby show to showcase the Wildflower way of delivering stunning Baby Namings and deeply meaningful Mother Blessings, or ‘Blessingways’ as they are known in the Navajo tradition. She will be joined by Ceremonial Assistant Jo Billingham to answer questions about these two beautiful ceremonies and why they can be such an important rite of passage for mothers and babies, as well as their families and communities.
The Dorset Bump to Baby Show is Dorset’s only one-day Pregnancy, Birth and Baby Event, brought to you by Zoe Keeping of Rock the Bump belly castings and Claire Cannie of Light Touch Massage Therapy. The show grew out of their passion for helping new and expectant parents find their ‘village’, and they pride themselves on only working with businesses and service providers who they trust and believe in. In fact, many of the exhibitors form part of their very own ‘mum village’.
Tickets cost £2.50 (ex. online booking fee) and can be found at: https://www.dorsetbumptobabyshow.co.uk
